My Personal Candidate Forum, Chapter 6: Influences On A Child
Welcome!
Let's Get Things Started...
Welcome. I'm always looking for ways to give back to our schools and community, and I’m proud to share that I've chosen to run for the Osseo ISD 279 School Board in November, 2018. I'm prepared for a lot of hard work now and over the next four years! This decision is the outcome of both loving our schools for what they do well, and wanting to improve them for where they are lacking in success. Please join me and support me on my journey to be your next School Board member!

A Bit About Me
Our family has lived in Maple Grove for 18 years. We enjoy the wonderful parks, convenient shopping, and trying out new restaurants--or enjoying an old favorite one!
I have worked part-time as a Registered Nurse for 17 years in the Birth Center at Hennepin Healthcare (formerly HCMC.) I love the diversity of my patients; I learn from them as much as they learn from me! When not at work, I enjoy watching my kids in their sports and other activities--yes, I'm the mom taxi and wouldn't have it any other way. I love reading mysteries and non-fiction; taking mind-clearing, leisurely walks; supporting Minnesota sports teams; and volunteering at my kids' schools. While my kids attended Weaver Lake Elementary, I was active with the PTA and volunteered as Secretary for 2 years on the PTA Executive Board.
My husband, Gary, works full time for our family-owned commercial scrap metal recycling business. He is a huge sports buff, and is also our kids' number one fan for whatever they are working at.
My daughter is in 10th grade and attends Park Center Senior High. She plays slow pitch softball in the summer, and enjoys participating in the school musicals. After school, she is taking voice lessons and hopes to be a professional singer/songwriter someday!
My son is in 7th grade and attends Osseo Middle School. He's been working hard on his basketball skills all summer and plays on a OMGBA team every year. He loves math and science and hopes to move to "Tornado Alley" someday and be a storm chaser...hopefully with a paid job as a meteorologist, too.
